Wigle Whiskey's "Cocktail of the Rebellion"
Time & Location
About the Event
Cocktail of the Rebellion competition features five of Pittsburgh’s most creative and rebellious cocktail makers at the Wigle Barrelhouse on October 1 from 5-8 PM. Bartenders will be giving “The Allegheny” cocktail a twist with Wigle spirits. One bartender’s cocktail will be given the inaugural “Cocktail of the Rebellion” title by a panel of cocktail and Whiskey Rebellion experts!
The 2019 Semi-Finalists are:
Jonathan Fridg - The Vault Taproom
Cassondra Geiger - Altius
Jordon Phillips - Wolfie’s Pub
Denise Greenway - PA Market
Riley Snyder - Pork and Beans
“The Allegheny” is named in honor of the farmers turned moonshiners that our namesake Philip Wigle fought to protect. Those same moonshiners eventually traveled across the Allegheny Mountains to settle what is now Bourbon County. Traditionally, it is made with bourbon, dry vermouth, crème de mûre, and lemon juice.
A $10 ticket includes a welcome cocktail and a sample of each bartender’s rebellious riff of “The Allegheny” cocktail. Wigle’s bar will be open for additional pay-as-you go cocktails, cider, and beer. Live music and a food truck will be on-site.
